Mesh light
- [Man] Another operating mode of the V-Ray light that we can work with as and when needed would be the mesh option. And so hopefully we can demonstrate in this scene just how quick and easy it can be to turn a piece of scene geometry into a genuine direct light source. Now, at this moment in time, if I just take a quick render what we have in the scene are some glass tubes attached to a brick wall with some very low level ambient lighting being generated by V-ray's GI environment tool in order to simulate a bit of a late evening feel. To create the neon effect that we want in this case then let's come over to the scene explorer. And from there both unhide and select the arrow neon mesh object. What we can do now and this would be the same process for any valid piece of scene geometry that we selected, is come over to the V-Ray tuber, hit the V-Ray mesh slide option. And that is it.
