Edit keyframes and ranges in the Dope Sheet.
- In traditional hand drawn or stop motion animation…the term Dope Sheet refers to a document…that records various types of information…according to the frame number of the animation.…It's also known as an Exposure sheet or X-Sheet…because one type of information it records…is camera settings.…The Dope Sheet also records things like…lip synchronization information…so that animators can match the timing…of pre-recorded dialog.…The Dope Sheet concept translates well…into the computer animation domain.…
Here, it's an editable spreadsheet…that plots all keyframe data according to frame number…and allows us to manipulate keyframes hierarchically.…I've got keyframes on the camera, so I'll select that…and open up the Dope Sheet from the Graph Editor's menu.…Choose Track View, Dope Sheet.…And we can see that it is again…a time line running left to right…and we've also got some keyframes visible.…On the left is a panel that lists…all of the available tracks or channels of data.…
And this little bar is the current time…so I can actually choose the current time…

3/22/2018Learn how to get around the 3ds Max interface and customize it to suit your preferences. Discover how to model different objects using splines, polygons, subdivision surfaces, and freeform sculpting. Then, learn to construct hierarchies, add cameras and lights, and animate with keyframes. Author Aaron F. Ross also takes an in-depth look at materials and texture mapping, as well as options for rendering engines such as Arnold and ART.
