Join Joel Bradley for an in-depth discussion in this video Defining Cloth properties: U and V Scale, part of Cloth Simulation: 3ds Max.
…Whilst the importance of creating our cloth objects at…real world scale is something that we have already noted.…It is probably fair to say that there will be times when we need to adjust…the fit of a cloth object or garment so as to get it looking just right.…Which is why in this final video for the chapter, we're…going to take a look at just how easy this can be.…When we use the UMV scale parameters found in the object properties dialog.…Now we'll start seeing, as you would expect, has a couple of…cloth objects set up that are in need of a little scaling.…
If I just select the vest object, you can see over in…the modify tab, that this is being created using a spline pattern…modify it which means that we do have the option available of…going in and making scale adjustments to the garment at the pattern level.…Which of course is fine we need to make…adjustments to the actual shape or look of the pattern.…But when dealing with a simple scaling adjustment to the cloth.…Altering things at the pattern level seems a little bit like overkill.…
