- In this video we're going to explore lighting.…Open the Apartment15 exercise file…and change the display mode from shaded to realistic.…We're seeing some shading here,…but this is coming from the default lights.…We need to create our own user lights,…so that we can make this scene more realistic.…Click on create lights and you'll see…there are two categories,…standard or photometric.…If you're working in film and games,…then standard lights would be a good choice,…because they are simpler…than their photometric counterparts.…
For example, let me make an omni light here on the ground,…and I will move that up in the z direction.…To see that I need to go over here and choose…lighting and shadow,…illuminate with scene lights,…if it's not already selected.…Now we're seeing kind of a rough approximation…of what this light is going to do in this room.…If I move it,…it'll take a second and then you'll see a new approximation.…So the omni light is a light that…emits light in all directions.…
Go to the modify panel,…and here you can control the strength of the light…
