Common parameters in Render Setup
- [Instructor] In order to frame a shot, and determine its composition, we must first know the aspect ratio, or its proportion of the frame. And it's the ratio of the width by the height. And the proportion of the view port really has nothing to do with the proportion of the actual rendering. The aspect ratio is not set in the camera parameters, but rather in the Renderer. Let's go into the Render Setup dialog. And in the Common tab, we have Output Size. And we've got some presets here. And it's currently set to the default of 640 by 480. If I wanted an aspect ratio of approximately 1.77 repeating, which is an HD aspect ratio, I can just plug that into the width and height here. Maybe I want the width to remain 640 pixels, but I can set the height to lower value, let's say 350 pixels and press Enter. And now I've got an image aspect of 1.778 with a pixel aspect of one. And that of course means we have square pixels…
