- [Instructor] The V-Ray color map is one of those simple and yet sometimes can't live without it type tools that come in handy for all sorts of reasons on a texturing project and even more so with the introduction of native ACG support in V-Ray five as we have already seen. It's premise is very simple in that it is designed to give users the ability to set a custom color using either a zero to two five five color picker or numeric floating point spinners for the red, green and blue channels on the map. This when plugged into any material input channel or the map node, being able to be used to drive that aspect of the material or map such as, opacity, metalness or reflection glossiness, for example. In the shade of all tab in the slate material editor then let's drop a V-Ray column map onto the canvas and plug it into the diffuse import of the V-Ray material that we have sitting there after which we can make…
