- [Instructor] No matter whether we call it the V-Ray material library or the V-Ray asset browser both of which are of course, technically correct. The fact that V-Ray five now comes with a decent set of basic materials in a library and an asset browser for easy navigation offset library could be a major boost to the productivity of V-Ray users of all levels. Now I am this point going to assume that you have already downloaded and installed the new material library as it is a part of the standard V-Ray five software installation, though you will need to be using at least 3DS Max 2018 or later in order to use this feature in conjunction with the asset browser. But if you skip the download of the material library then you can easily initiate that at any time from inside 3DS Max, by pressing the V-Ray asset browser button as found on the V-Ray toolbar.
