Control growth parameters of the Advanced Wood map.
- [Instructor] Picking up where we left off last week.…We are exploring the parameters…of the Advanced Wood texture.…I've got an ActiveShade rendering running…and the Slate Material Editor open…with the parameters of the Advanced Wood texture displayed.…Let's go a little bit deeper into these settings…in order to art direct the look of the grain.…Specifically, let's go into this Weights and Ratios section.…This is where we can control the spacing of the rings…and the overall chaos or shape of the grain.…
Let's turn off these three at the top here,…Fiber Cosine, Fiber Perlin Noise, and Growth Perlin Noise.…We'll get back to those in a moment.…But I want to disable those just so that we can have…a clear picture of what the other parameters do.…Ring Thickness is pretty obvious,…it's the scaling of the concentric rings here.…I'll leave that at its default of .75.…But getting closer in the Perspective view,…so we can see the transitions…between the early and late wood more clearly.…
We've got Sharpness values here…
