Apply a custom map to the backplate
- [Instructor] In the previous movie, we saw how to use the Arnold environment settings to turn off the rendering of a backplate, but still preserve the illumination from an Arnold Physical Sky. We'll take this one step further and do a little bit of in-camera compositing, where we can have the illumination from one map and background from another map. And that'll allow us to substitute a sky with some clouds for the simple Physical Sky environment. Let's go back into the Render Setup dialog. In the Arnold Renderer tab, in the Environment, Background & Atmosphere section, we just want to make sure that we've got our Camera Primary Rays turned on for the background backplate. We turned that off in the previous movie, so turn that on and do an ActiveShade Rendering. And here it is with just the Physical Sky for both the illumination and the scene backdrop. We can switch the source here over to Custom Map. And when we do that, we have the ability to add a map. Let's go into the Material…
