- [Instructor] Materials can be animated…like other 3ds Max properties…using controllers such as the familiar…Bezier Float controller for key frame animation.…In this week's movie we'll see how to create,…connect, and edit animation controllers…directly in the Material Editor.…Let's open up the Material Editor.…Now the node based slate Material Editor…makes it very easy to set up shader networks for animation.…We can do this in the track view curve editor or dope sheet.…
But that involves a fair amount of digging…through the scene hierarchy,…and it can be inconvenient.…The track view is really set up for editing key frames.…It only shows a text based tree of the scene hierarchy.…So making and breaking shader connections…is a cumbersome process there.…But for setting up an animated procedural shading effect,…a slate material editor is much easier.…As you know, 3ds Max shading nodes,…such as the physical material we see here,…have multiple parameter inputs.…
In the case of the physical material,…the default parameters can accept RGB colors.…
