Adjusting light shape
- [Instructor] A 3ds Max photometric light can assume many different forms to assume the shapes of various lighting fixtures. We can emit light from a point which is the default, but more accurately, we can emit light from an area or a volume using various shape primitives. Let's render this inactive shade with a default point line we've got in the scene. Click to open the active shade window. And let's move that light down. We'll select it, and grab the move tool. I'll position it closer to the floor to make it easier to see what we're doing. I'll bring it down to a Z position of 0.2 meters, and maybe bring it out a little bit into the center of the room. With that light selected, let's go over to the modified panel. And in the shape slash area shadows section, we'll see that the emit light from or shape pull down is set to the default of point.
