Using a touch-probe scanner

Using a touch probe is another way to measure a physical part and design that part in the computer. In this video we're going to be using software Point2CAD that's a plug in for SOLIDWORKS. The Point2CAD software paired with a touch-probe arm provides a great way to reverse engineer a part. In this case here, what I'm doing is I am using a little clicker in my hand and I have a touch probe in the other. I am able to touch a point on that sheet of paper to pick the various tools like sketches, lines, extrudes, and cuts to build that part inside of SolidWorks without having to go back and grab a mouse or go back into the software. Everything is happening with just using the touch probe. Now you can see, I am going to choose a couple different points to define planes and then a couple points on the part to define lines, circles, arcs, you name it.
