Use vertex painting for groundcover

- [Instructor] Vertex Painting is a great way to paint multiple materials on an object organically. It can be used for things such as: ground cover or to dirt and grime to surfaces. So, let's go ahead and create a material that is set up for Vertex Painting. So, let's go into our materials folder and create a new material. I'm right-clicking and selecting material here. I'm going to type the name Ground Cover. Now, if that name is taken, just go ahead and select another unique name. Now, we're going to use this ground cover to paint the front lawn of this house. I need to double-click on this and then as you can see, we've got a blank material. Now with Vertex Painting, what we want to do is basically, organically switch between multiple textures and other parameters in our scene. So, if we go into Content here, Textures, you'll see we have a number of textures and the two that I want to look at is Grass Diffuse. So, I'm going to left-click and drag that in.
