Understanding view modes
- [George] Hi, I'm George Maestri. Today we're going to look at the many view modes that are available in Unreal. Now these can help you debug and tweak your lighting, so it's exactly the way that you want. Now typically, a lot of people just use two view modes and they're found here in the viewport here. We have lit, which we use most of the time. We also have wireframe, but as you can see we have a lot of other ones that probably go unused. Now this one here is unlit, which basically just shows your textures, and it's kind of a cartoon view of the scene, but more effective is detail lighting. Now this shows you just the lighting with the normal maps in your textures, and the reason you want to see just the lighting, is to find dark spots in the scene. Now sometimes you may have a dark texture, and you don't know whether that part of the scene is dark because of the texture or the lighting. So this takes the textures…
