Tails and reversed curves

- [Instructor] Let's take a look at the principle of reversals, and reversals, it's very important when you animate to keep your characters loose, and how loose depends on how extreme your reversals are. Now the classic example of the reversal is this tail whip, and this is my version of the same thing that you see in the Preston Blair books. And if you look at those, they're one of the oldest, one of the first real guides to animation. And there's the beautiful wave curl that you see illustrated in that. So what I want to do is basically show you that in slightly more detail so you can see this principle of how we move from a C curve to an S curve to a reverse of that. So here you see the line going from left to right. These are all the frames overlaid, so I didn't want to make them too small, space 'em too far apart, or you mightn't be able to see them, but this is the entirety of the action, with all the in-betweens, too.
