- [George Maestri] Hi, I'm George Maestri. Today we're going to dive a little bit deeper into material layers in Unreal. And create a material that has multiple materials that you can paint interactively on a surface. Now, we are going to be using Unreal's render layer, so make sure you go into Project Settings and check it on. So it's under Rendering, Support Material Layers. Just make sure you click that on and we can get started. Now, I have a lot of stuff here in my Mat Layers folder. So this is where we will be working. I have a couple of generic materials that we'll use to cretae a master material that we can copy from project to project. And then we'll use that material to get more specific, and we'll drop some ground cover into that so we can paint this as if we're painting the ground. Now, these are simple material layers.
