Overlapping large characters

- [Instructor] This is a character that I designed for my previous course, How to Draw Cartoon Characters and Animation, in case you want to drill into some of the techniques I used to draw in this style. But what I wanted to do in this movie is to show how you can take these really cute, you know, Disney-esque, classic, you know, Warner Brothers-type characters and then apply actual animation principles to them. And with a big, heavyweight character, it's a really nice chance to use drag, your overlapping action on the belly and the areas of body fat. So these are the four main poses. He starts on the left, he turns into the right. And I want to make it meaty, so let's squash him on the second one, overshoot on the third, and then we'll settle into the final pose. And this was my very rough timing estimate. So it's a pretty fast action. The faster the action, the more violent the overlap, and also, the fewer drawings we have to mess around with. So it's a good way to do your first…
