- [Instructor] So let's take a look at objects, how we make physical objects that aren't alive seem to be alive. It's something that we've done in animation since the very earliest days. So this movie will focus more on design, strictly, than on animation, but I will show you some basic principles about how to move these things. So, one of the main approaches would be define some part of the physical object that can be anthropomorphized, so how to make it look like a part of the human body? A classic example of this is a broom where we split the brush strands into two legs. If you wanted to, you could bolt on arms for more human behavior, and that's what was done in Fantasia, for example, when they used a similar character to the broom here. So if you you want to try to copy this walk, you'll see my timing chart's down at the bottom, and just a reminder, my timing is on 24 frames a second, the traditional animation timing.
