- [Instructor] With our reference in place, we can start modeling. Now I did do a little bit of extra work. I added in a layer. If we go over to our layers panel here and you can see I can switch that reference on or off or I can template it or reference it. So that way I can see it but I don't select it. And then I also went into the outliner and I grouped everything and named it descriptively. So we have a group called reference one which contains all of our planes. Now if you orbit the scene, you may see that the backsides of these planes are black, and we can fix that by going into lighting, two-sided lighting. Now that we have this in place, let's go ahead and start to model. Now we basically model with primitives. This truck is essentially box-shaped so we're going to start off with a box. I'm going to select a polygon cube. I'm doing this from the shelf but we can do it from the create menu if you want.…
