In this video, see how to send a puppet file to a client that they can quickly use in their own Adobe Character Animator.
- Some clients may want to create their own animations with puppets that you created for them. (upbeat music) Creating the assets for a puppet, you know, all the imagery, like the heads, mouths and movements are only part of creating a workable puppet. You're going to spend a lot of time rigging the character, adding the behaviors, and cycles, and triggers, and bones and draggables. And you want your clients to be able to take advantage of all that brilliance that you've created.
So to do that, you're going to export your puppet. Luckily, it's very easy. Once your puppet is selected, and I have this open in my rig, let's make sure we have him selected, go to File, Export, and Puppet. Pick where you're going to want it to go, name it down here below, and click on Save. And you'll be able to tell which are the puppet files because they're named .puppet. And their file size will be anywhere from, let's say a meg, to 100, 150 megs.
You know, just like any Photoshop file, there's a number of things that go into how large a file is going to be. It'll be based on the number of assets, the number of layers, how big the file is pixel by pixel; those are the types of things that'll make a difference. So, for instance, this puppet, Mark, is a very large file. I have it set to where it'll be full HD on a close up of the face, which means on three and a half to four times bigger in order to have the entire body in there.
And I have lots of different animations and cycles in it as well. So the export of a puppet is simply a single .puppet file. And your puppet file will retain all of your rigging, and triggers, and behaviors that you had set up. So you simply drag your .puppet file into your project and you're ready to animate. And it's easy to send out the same way that you send out any small or large file to a client. (upbeat music)
