- [Instructor] Hi, this week we're going to learn how to create light shafts in Unreal. And this is a great light effect that gives a lot of character to your scenes, and so let's dive in. Now, light shafts are typically done on directional lights or spotlights. Now, I have a sun and sky in my scene so there's my light source. Now, if I select the sun and sky you'll see that it's actually made up of a number of different components. If we go into the details pane here under sun and sky, you'll see we have a number of different objects here, and the one we want to look at is the directional light. So let's select that and let's start playing with light shafts. So, with a directional light you can see we have all the standard controls for lights, such as intensity, color, all that sort of thing, but if you scroll down, you'll see that under light mask there is a rollout called light shafts.
