Create a gobo using Light Functions

- [Narrator] Hi, I'm George Maestri and today we're going to take a look at how to create a gobo effect in Unreal. Now if you're not familiar with them, gobos are used by lighting designers to essentially restrict or add patterns to light. Basically they're stencils or gels that are placed over lights to create specific effects or patterns. So we're going to use light functions in Unreal to create a gobo effect. Now we're going to start off with one of our lights, if we take a look at this scene we've got two lights, we have a spotlight left and a spotlight right. So we're going to start with the left light and we're going to add what's called a light function, and this can create patterns in the light. And it's essentially the same as a material. So in fact I'm going to go into my materials folder here and we're going to right click and create a new material. Now I'm going to name this light function and then maybe underscore gobo so we know that that's what this is. And then I'm…
