Create blob shadows
- [George] Hi, I'm George Maestri. Today, we're going to take a look at a very simple way to create drop shadows so that you don't have to use dynamic shadows in your scene. So, here, we have a simple car and if you could imagine maybe a scene where we have a lot of traffic going in front of a building or something and we don't want to calculate the shadows for all of the vehicles. So, right now, my light source is a directional light and if I click on my car itself, you can see we have a dynamic shadow. But if I want to, I can turn off this shadow and create one on my own. Now, we do this, simply by creating a plane and putting an image on it that looks like a shadow. Sometimes, this is called a blob shadow. So, basically, all we have to do is add a plane and make it look like a shadow. So, let's go ahead and select the plane, drop that into our scene and move it into place. So, I want it just slightly above the road…
