- [Instructor] You can see a lot more of the techniques described in this movie throughout my Tips and Tricks course in the library. And in there I've made a six-part series on how to animate in this zaney 1940's style that you might find useful. The classic example of cartoon physics is the character who runs off a cliff but doesn't fall until they realize that they're in mid-air, usually after looking at the audience and blinking a few times. I've applied gravity from the feet and moved it up to the knees and then up to the waist and then the chest, and that generates that classic stretch pattern before the fall. Classical animators use timing charts to control the timing of the keys and the spacing of the in-betweens, which heavily determines the perceived mass of the object being animated.
