- [Instructor] In this movie, I want to talk to you about improvement and whether we improve in a linear way or a different way or if whether indeed we improve at all because some of us hit a plateau and get stuck there. So before I became an animator, I worked as an assistant to an animator doing in-betweens. And the assistant job was very very monotonous and very dull but I was always working toward being an animator where I could really begin to grow and improve. And one of the animators in the department told me that when you get into the animation department, you are not going to improve in a linear way and I thought surely you would, that you know it would be incremental, that as the different bits of tricks and techniques began to add up, you would slowly go from a two-foot a week animator to three-foot a week animator to a four-foot a week animator and a foot is 16 frames so you know, maybe three feet is about two seconds or there abouts.
