Blocking out the terrain layout

- [Instructor] Now we're going to define the overall shape of the terrain and I'll quickly block them out by using some of the assets here. I have the Mossy_Embankment and there are two models, and then I have the Mossy_Rock_Face. So I'm going to throw them in into the scene and this model is kind of empty from the backside. So we will arrange the terrain according to its backside but for now, I will rotate it 90 degrees to set it or align it with this structure over here and move this to the background. And I will scale them up and probably, this would be the right size for it. Move that back. And what I have in my mind is that this house is sort of attached to some sort of mount in the background. And I'm going to rotate this. And it doesn't matter if the geometry goes in or collides with this structure. Let's just probably move that back. And to the right and scale that up a bit. And then I'm going to duplicate that like this and probably slightly rotate it. Now I know that my shots will be from this angle over here. And probably I will never go very close to this part here. So I'm not very conscious about the gaps here at the moment. Plus I will be filling the tops here with different plants and shrubs so the top will also be covered. For now, I will just quickly drag and drop the other assets as well and scale them up so I can define the shape. I'll just hold Alt and drag to make a copy. And scale that down and slightly maybe rotate that. And then scale this one up. And then I will go to the other one and drag and drop that here. Scale that up and also, scale that on y-axis and all direction as well. Now, let me just place that here. Now, whatever I'm doing here is not rocket science but it is something that will take us time to arrange stuff. So off the recording, of course, I'm going to rearrange this stuff really well. And you can take your time and arrange them the way you want it. So there's an opening in here and I can just bring that close to this part, rotate it. Don't worry about these openings. We can later cover it with the terrain that we'll be working with. And also with some plants. But just defining the overall shape here. Now, this will sort of flow this direction and from this point onward, it will be ground. And the same I can do for the other side. I will select these three, hold Alt and drag them. And then I can right click and mirror on the y-axis, just drag that here. And let me go close to this, rotate it. Bring that here. And this should do the job. Now, off the recording, I will definitely go ahead and arrange it in better manner. But for now, I think this should do the job. You should take your time and arrange them properly. The next thing we're going to do is set up the terrain and raise it a bit so it matches the backside of these rocks. So we'll be sort of mount over here and then there could be a slope on the backside. Off the recording, I'll try to rearrange them and shape them better and then I will set up the terrain to match my rocks in the background.
