- [Instructor] Bird anatomy looks very different from human anatomy on the surface, but it's possible to see where the similarities lie and which part of the bird wings are analogous to the human body part. In this slide, I've colored the lower arms and legs of the human in red and blue, and done the same with the toes, so you can follow the changes over onto the bird. The range of motion of the wing, that's going to be roughly the same as the range of motion of the human arms and legs so that the elbow won't be able to bend backwards, for example. You know, it might have like a wider range, but it won't be doing something completely alien to this. And you can also notice that we can cheat the feathers to be the equivalent of human fingers and hands. So you'll see that a lot in cartoons, where the feathers turn into fingers, like they have bones in them.
