Creating animation paths

In addition to keys and curves, we can animate objects using other methods. One of these is an Animation Paths. Most but not all software supports this feature. An Animation Paths is simply a line or a curve. The curve defines a path that the object follows through the scene. This is simply another way of defining motion. The path can be drawn freehand, or it can be extracted from another object such as a roadway. This can get the object to stick to the road without too much effort. Changing the shape of the path changes the motion of the object. When animating an object along a path, you need to define where the object is along the path. In most software, this is done using a key. The key defines how far into the path the object is positioned. Depending on the software, this number can be a percentage or a specific distance.
