Hey there, this is Ray Villalobos, and welcome to jQuery Mobile, new features and migration. In this short course, I'm going to take you through some of the new features in the latest version of jQuery Mobile. A touch-optimized framework for smart phones and tablets. I'll start by showing you how the themes work in the new version of the framework, and why you need to be careful when upgrading. Then, we'll examine how this version uses SVG graphics to handle the display of icons, and why it will make your applications look better on retina displays.
Then, we'll examine some of the new features now available in version 1.4, including persistent widgets, pop ups with arrows, tool tips on on sliders, and jQuery UI tabs. Finally, I'll take you through migrating a website in version 1.3 to the new version. So if you're curious about what's new, what's changed, and what will break when you upgrade, let's dive into jQuery Mobile new features and migration.
