Using the exercise files

Video: Using the exercise files

I am going to talk for just a second about the Exercise Files. If you have access to the Exercise Files for this course, you can put them on your desktop as I have or anywhere else that you want. Wherever you put them, you will be importing them into an iPhoto Library and after that, you don't need to think about where they are, since iPhoto takes care of that for you. Okay, nice and safe and sound in iPhoto. Once you have imported the Exercise Files into your iPhoto Library, you will see all of the files on your screen.

Using the exercise files

I am going to talk for just a second about the Exercise Files. If you have access to the Exercise Files for this course, you can put them on your desktop as I have or anywhere else that you want. Wherever you put them, you will be importing them into an iPhoto Library and after that, you don't need to think about where they are, since iPhoto takes care of that for you. Okay, nice and safe and sound in iPhoto. Once you have imported the Exercise Files into your iPhoto Library, you will see all of the files on your screen.

These are the ones that you will have. These other pictures you see illustrate what happens to libraries that you update from older versions of iPhoto and do not play a part in the work of this course. In fact, starting in chapter 2 they will no longer appear at all. So over the course of working on this training, the iPhoto Library is going to change and I don't mean that the pictures within it so much are going to change, but we're going to be creating greeting cards and books and we are going to be organizing things and creating smart albums and all that.

So depending on where you come in, if you're not doing this in a linear fashion, depending on where you come in, what you see on the screen that I'm working with maybe different than what you have on your computer. That's only because I've been doing stuff to this library that you have. So just know that everything is there, but it may look a little different depending on which movie you are looking at and how you're proceeding. If you're following along with me, your Library is pretty much going to look the same. If you're just jumping around, your library can look different depending on where you land when you're doing the training.

If you do not have access to these Exercise Files, you can follow along with your own photos as we proceed through the course.
