(Music playing.) Hi! I'm Simon Allardice and welcome to iPhone SDK Essential Training. In this course, I'll show you how to program applications that run on the iPhone or iPod Touch, using the iPhone Software Development Kit or SDK. We'll create several applications to explore the concepts and techniques of iPhone development. By the time you finish the course, you'll understand the core SDK tools including Xcode, Interface Builder and Instruments. You'll work extensively with Objective-C, the language we use to create iPhone applications.
We'll cover the patterns, conventions, and guidelines of iPhone programming, including things like memory management, Model View Controller, delegation. We'll also explore Apple's Human Interface Guidelines to understand what can and should be done with the iPhone user interface, plus we'll review the process of developing your apps, working with devices and even publishing to the App Store. I've been working with the iPhone SDK since it was first available in beta. I've been a software developer and trainer for over 20 years.
I hope this training will inspire you to make your very own iPhone applications and share them with others. So let's get started with iPhone SDK Essential Training.
