The included weather app on the iPhone and iPod Touch is a great, simple application that lets you check the weather in multiple locations. This is particularly useful if you travel a lot or need to know what to pack on a multiple-city trip. When you first launch the weather app you should first see your local weather. Here you'll see the current temperature, the hourly temperature below that which you can scroll horizontally, as well as the five day forecast below that. At the top of the screen an image of the current weather situation is displayed. Depending on the weather you might see clouds, sunshine, rain or snow here.
Tapping the temperature display, gives you more detailed information. You can swipe through and see the weather at some of the other default locations. Or to change or add a location of your own simply touch the button at the bottom right of the screen. Here you'll get an overview of the weather in all the cities your tracking. Your current location is always at the top unless you've disabled location services. To search for and add another city tap the plus button. Then type either the city or the zip code of the location you're looking for. Now the weather function works internationally so typing say, Bethlehem, will get results for the cities in the West Bank Palestine as well as in Pennsylvania and other states around the country.
I'll select the one in Pennsylvania. And there it is. Let's add a couple more. It's cloudy in Dubai, and it looks like it's raining in Taipei. So once again, once you find the city you're looking for just select it from the list and it will appear on the bottom of your weather page. You can tap any city and hold down for a second until it pops up, and then drag it to change the order of the cities. Again, your current location is always at the top, so you won't be able to move that but you can move the other cities in your list. Or you can slide your finger to the left across a city if you no longer want to track it.
You can also change the temperature display from Fahrenheit to Centigrade down at the bottom. And once you've got your cities and temperature settings the way you want, tap any city to see its weather. And now to switch between cities just swipe side to side.
