Using JoliDrive to browse cloud app data

My name is Jess Stratton and welcome to Monday Productivity Pointers. Over the course of the past year I've shown you cloud storage devices and services like DropBox, GoogleDrive, Microsoft SkyDrive. You could pick just one of those service to use but you may be like me and use all three of them on a regular basis. I use Google Drive for work and Dropbox as a personal file storage and backup service for my home and personal documents and data. The problem is that when they get large, you may not know what service a particular file is on and then you have to hunt around for it.

Or it might not even be on a storage drive. It may be on a cloud service like Facebook or Evernote. Or maybe you uploaded a video and it's on your YouTube account somewhere. Each service has its own search feature but you still have to visit and log into each service and website to look for what you need. So today, and you can see I'm already here, I'm going to show you an amazing service called joli cloud. Now I got to joli cloud by typing jolicloud.com Into the box and it redirected it to this other URL.

In Jolicloud you get your own Jolidrive. That is, one place to go and visit and browse all your cloud storage and services in one place. Now you have a few options to create your account. You can either sign in with your Google account or you Facebook account, or if you don't feel comfortable doing either of those, you can always create click classic sign and just use an email address. Also, if you do just want to get a better look of what Jollidrive is, even though I'm going to show you it right now, you can watch a video right here.

So, I'm going to go ahead and log in. This is the home screen of your Jolidrive. So the interface is very simple. I can see that I'm logged in on the top right here and I can also sign out if I wanted to. For example, if I was accessing all my files on somebody else's computer. This is another neat thing of having a Jolidrive. You can go to any computer, sit down, type joliecloud.com and login and have everything in one go available to you. So that you can quickly find a file that you need even if you aren't sure where it is.

You don't have to log in to seven different storage services on somebody else's machine and remember to log out of all those devices. You can simply log into your Jolidrive and sign out when you are done. So on the left hand side, I can see all the services that I'm connected to. For example, here's my Dropbox account, my Google Drive account, and my Skydrive account. If I click on Skydrive, I can navigate through all my folders, just as if I was online in that site itself.

In fact if I click on a file, I can open it up, delete it, I can view it on Skydrive and I can also have the option to either download it, rename it. I can even share it out right from here. Now I've connected to a bunch of services that aren't file storage, such as Evernote, Facebook and Tumblr. And I can browse all those sites from here. There's a lot of other sites that you don't particularly need accounts for, you can still browse the data. Joli drive connects to those things, like SlideShare.

To add services it's easy. I'm going to click add more services on the top left Here's where you can scroll through a very long list of services that you may already have an account with and you can connect it up to your Jolidrive. I'm going to connect up to SlideShare. This is how easy it is. Find the service you want to connect to. Click the green plus button in the middle of it. And now simply log in using your log in details for that service. For example it's telling me that I need my SlideShare username and password.

When you're all done click the green Connect button, and that's it. I'm now linked to my SlideShare account. So anytime I'm searching through all my services for a particular file and I know I have it on SlideShare it's just as easy as logging into my Jolidrive. Coming down, clicking SlideShare, and finding the presentation that I had put up there. I can also click any Featured slides, Most Viewed Today. I can browse it almost as if I was browsing the Slideshare site. So that's a quick look at jolidrive.

You'll notice that it's so convenient and so easy to link up all your services. At any time, you can click add more services and browse the long list of services that you can connect to. Now, one word of caution. If you have multiple accounts in a lot of these services, such as Google, it's going to try to link up to whatever account you're currently logged into on that machine. So if it's logging you in automatically to the wrong account, then sign out of Google on that computer itself and try signing back in again, but that's it.

I encourage you to go explore Jolicloud. Connect up all your devices and see how easy it really is to find everything you need in one place.
