My name is Jess Straton and welcome to Monday productivity pointers. In the last video, I showed you an app called Genius Scan, and how we could use it, to scan in multiple receipts, in one tidy little document. In this video, I'm going to show you how you can send it to people, because that's what you would need to do for our business expenses. You'd have to submit them. Genius Scan gives you lots of options for sending. The first thing I'm going to do, once I'm Genius Scan, is tap my document to get into it. Now remember, the number on the right-hand side tells me how many scans are in that document.
I can see my title. I can see my scans. Now if I wanted to add more scans to it at any time, I can tap that Plus button on the bottom left-hand side. But right now, I'm interested in the bottom right-hand side. Tapping that up gives me some options. Now as you can see it's in the format of a PDF. Which means each scan is going to be appended as a different page in that PDF. This is a great way to send receipts to people. Now, if you have a lot of receipts in here, your file size could grow quite large.
So fortunately we have an option. You can tap the resolution section, and change the resolution of the images. Now remember, when you change the resolution to shrink the size of the document, you do have to make some concessions, and that is, that your document and the scans, are going to get fuzzy, and they may get hard to read. So I would also send it to yourself, just to make sure that whoever's going to be reading your receipts and scans can see all the information that they need to. But right now I only have two scans in there, so the actual size is just under one and that's perfectly fine for sending via email.
Now I don't actually have to send it via email. As you can see here I have lots of choices. I can export it to email, Google Drive, Box, Dropbox, Evernote, SkyDrive. I can even send it as a fax. There's tons of options. If I tap Email, it's going to automatically create a new email, put my email address in the From, give me a subject line. And dump the PDF file in an email, and it will still allow me to address the email, and tap my finger right in the body, so that I can tap an email out.
I can say something like, here's my expense receipts for the month of December, whatever I need to. You can either Send to send the email right away, or hit Cancel if you don't want to send it after all. So that's how easy it is to use genius scan to not only, create scans of all your business receipts, or any other projects that you have to pocket scan, but it's very easy and you have lots of options to send it out.
