In this final chapter we're going to be looking at some solutions for those occasional times in your day to day use of the iPhone or iPod touch where they might just acting weird. Maybe an app keeps quitting unexpectedly or maybe your device isn't connecting to the Internet. I'm actually having trouble coming up with examples of things that might go wrong because my personal experience with the iPhone and iPod touch has been pretty smooth. But if your device is acting weird, you can refer to this chapter for some things you can try. The first thing I always recommend trying whether it's an iPhone, iPod touch, your computer or any other electronic device is to restart the thing.
It always surprises me how some people will never try this very simple step, which fixes many temporary problems before they start getting into all kinds of complicated attempts to fix an issue. So we've seen this before, but to restart your iPhone or iPod touch, hold down the Sleep/Wake button for a couple of seconds until you see the Slide to Power Off slider. Then just slide to turn off your device. Wait until you see the screen turn off.
Now the screen might go blank, but for a moment the device will still technically be on. Once the iPhone or iPod is completely off, hold down the Sleep/Wake button again to power it back up. And once you're back at your Home screen check to see if restarting solved your issue.
