iPhoto '08 Essential Training

with Derrick Story

Video: Welcome

Hi, my name is Derrick Story. I'm a writer. I'm a photographer. I'm a teacher. I run a virtual camera club called The Digital Story and I'm going to be your facilitator and host for this exploration of iPhoto '08. iPhoto '08, this is the latest version of Apple's photo management tool for everyone, as I like to say. I use it myself. I think iPhoto is a fabulous tool for not only organizing your photos, it has very powerful image editing capability and it has lots of fun ways to share your photos everything from using the new Web Galleries function, which I just love it. It's amazing and how easy it is to post the gallery online if you have a .Mac account to making prints and greeting cards and calendars. You can make movies and slideshows. I mean this application really does have it all and we are going to explore tons and tons and tons of this wonderful functionality that I'm going to make it easy for you. That is my goal. I'm telling you right now. My goal for this training is to show you all this stuff to make it fun, to make it easy, to increase your capability with iPhoto '08 and I think as a result make you a better photographer because if you understand what's going to happen when you get to the computer then suddenly you can take more chances and you can be more daring and you can have more enjoyment, while you are taking pictures because you know what, I'll take that series of shots that I might not have considered before because I know when I get back to the computer I'm going to be able to make them look good, I'm going to be able to share them with my friends and I'm going to have a great time and suddenly you start to build momentum with your photography.
