Creative brief development process: Part one
I've got a recommendation on how to approach developing a creative brief. I've charted out what i think is a good process. Here are the first four steps. Step one is to Review client material. Look at their website, read it, review it for overall tone and manner, see how they present themselves. If the cloud has sent you a request for proposals, or RFP, then have some information there. Many times, for big projects, the RFP includes a lot of background and context. If the client has sent you anything else in the form of an email or sales literature or maybe a research deck or whatever, take a look at it and analyze it. Make a list of questions for the client based on what you've read. Note your impressions, both good and bad from having this particular bunch of material. Step 2 is to try the product or service yourself. Go ahead and use that product or service that you'll be working on. If you can experience the product directly do it.
