Creating a subdomain is a great way to create a shortcut URL to different folders on your websites. And it's pretty easy on most control panels. We're going to create a subdomain for our blog which right now is at agelessclassic.com/blog and we're going to do it on Media Temple which uses the Plesk control panel. To log into your control panel, you can simply go to your website address and then put :8443, type in your login information.
So from here, we want to go to Websites & Domains and then we want to go to this bottom part right here called Add New Subdomain. And from here we want to type in the subdomain we want; in this case, it'll be blog. So the name of our subdomain will be blog.agelessclassic.com and right here we want to type in the document root. Now you have to include the web root when you do this. So in this case the web root is httpdocs and you want to put /blog and click OK.
Okay, the subdomain was created and now you can go to your website and try typing in subdomain. Knowing how to create these gives you and your clients a quicker way to get to different places on your website and it gives you a tool that you can use when testing new versions of your websites.
