Saving drawings to other formats

In a perfect world, everyone you collaborate with would use the same version of AutoCAD that you use. Unfortunately, this isn't always the case. So in this lesson, we're going to learn how to save drawings such that we can share files with most any user. On my screen I have a drawing that represents a detail. Let's say I need to send this file to a client and they use AutoCAD 2006. Since AutoCAD 2006 can not open the current DWG file format, I'll need to save this drawing as an older release. To do that, I'll open the Application menu, and I'll choose Save As. And I'm going to save this drawing inside the exercise files folder within the sharing data directory. I will append dash 2006 to the file name, and I'll open the files of type menu. Right here is where we can select our desired format. Notice there isn't an option for every version of AutoCAD here.
