Understanding mouse functions
In the old days, construction drawings were created using a pencil. Today we can draw everything using a mouse. In this lesson, we will explore how we interact with AutoCAD using the buttons on our mouse. First, we'll talk about the Left Mouse button or a left click. A left click is used to make a selection. As an example, a left click on this circle to select it. At this point, I can continue to click on objects to add to the selection. To deselect objects, press the Escape key. In the event you'd like to select more than one object at a time, you can use a window. For example, I'm going to left click above the part, and then I'll pull my cursor to the right. Using a window, AutoCAD will select the objects that fall completely within the window's boundary. As a courtesy, it will even highlight the objects allowing you to preview the selection. When I click again to finish the window, we can see the selected objects. I'm going to press Escape again to deselect these, and we'll look at…
