Exploding objects with Explode and Xplode

In this video, we will explore two different methods for exploding blocks. Open the Architectural4 sample file in the Chapter 12 folder. I'd like to redesign this chair so that it doesn't have arm rests. However, I want armrests to appear on the two chairs at the ends of the table. So in this circumstance, I want two different representations of the same block, and that's not possible. So what I could do is explode the two chairs on the ends. And then go ahead and redefine the chair definition. And that will automatically update these six chairs. So the first thing we have to do is explode these two chairs. And I'll do that in two different ways. I'll use the Explode command up here. I'll select it, and press Enter. Now, it turned white. And that's because when we exploded the block reference, it inserted the geometry from the block definition. So we have to come in here and select all of that. Change it from layer 0 to layer I-Furn, and it's still white, even though it's on layer…
