Our Design content manager Kristin Ellison takes on our 21-Day Drawing Challenge and lets you see the daily results.
Today Von challenged us to go out into the world and draw what we saw for two hours.
Sadly I didn’t have the full two hours, but I did try my hand at capturing life—which was tough!
Drawing people is hard for me, and to make matters harder, these people were partially obscured. There’s a sense of urgency when drawing from life because you never know when your subject is going to move. So getting the general shape down quickly is essential; then, if you have the luxury of time, you can go back in and tighten up the details.
Check back next week to see how I completed the final challenge: a self-portrait! Now that’s a daunting task. I need a few days to think about how best to tackle that one …
