So, you know the cardboard backing on notepads? Today Von challenged us to create what he calls a cardboard doodle.
Essentially the process is to draw a simple contour shape of anything, cut it out, and then doodle on it.
I chose to draw a fish with a bulging eye.
Why the bulging eye?
Well, it made the contour a little more interesting and the character a little more silly.
As I was decorating her, I was thinking about snorkeling in Mexico and trying to recall the patterns on the fish there. Instead, my mind wandered to the colorful pottery they make—and she ended up looking more like a dish than a fish.
Let’s just say she’s Trish the fish, who’s quite the dish!
