Our Design content manager Kristin Ellison takes on our 21-Day Drawing Challenge and lets you see the daily results.
Today Von challenged us to redraw the dinosaurs he provided, distorting them in any way we needed to make them fit.
I started with the Apatosaurus and found myself, as always, taking a more realistic approach; so when I moved on to the T. rex, I decided to turn him into a dinobird.
The Stegosaurus was again pretty realistic but I played around a bit with the shape of the plates on its back.
For the Pterodactyl, I again tried to push myself a bit by making its head large enough so that I would be forced to figure out how to get the rest of its very horizontal body into the frame. Then I put shorts on him and made him into a boy.
Perhaps I’m finally starting to be able to channel some of Von’s creative ways—one can only hope!
