This week’s technique will teach you how to build a hand-carved antique sign from scratch.
This week Bert takes us through the steps to create an antique looking pub sign. He begins by adding some simple type, but ends up distorting it in order to create the initial layout. From there he creates a background for the sign and renders fibers to give it texture. Next he applies a filter from the filter gallery to the type and adds a few layer effects to make the type pop. Finally he adds a few more filters to roughen the edges to complete the effect.
Be sure to check back next week for another Pixel Playground video tutorial!
