Director of Marketing

Description:

The Director of Marketing drives all external marketing activities to promote our products and services in order to increase awareness, positioning, messaging and demand. The Director of Marketing is responsible for the development and execution of customer acquisition and retention marketing efforts designed to drive web site traffic and sales. These include, but are not limited to, paid and natural search, affiliate programs, partnership marketing, email marketing acquisition and retention programs, press releases and other media-based business building activities.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Develop and execute an online customer acquisition plan designed to maximize site traffic and sales demand.
  • Maximize paid/natural search traffic and trial conversion, while meeting cost per acquisition targets.
  • Direct agency marketing and media campaigns to meet business performance objectives.
  • Execute effective affiliate programs to increase subscriber growth and to enable our existing customers to be rewarded for evangelizing and referrals.
  • Track, measure, and analyze performance of online advertising and marketing programs; design test strategies and refine creative to optimize results.
  • Manage customer communication programs such as news releases, monthly newsletters, subscriber announcements and special promotions.
  • Drive our tradeshow marketing strategy and execution to ensure customer acquisition objectives are achieved through innovative and effective pre-show, at-show and post-show promotions.
  • Develop, drive and execute co-marketing programs with strategic partners.
  • Collaborate directly with the President and Chief Creative Officer to ensure our marketing materials reflect our corporate brand appropriately.
  • Recruit, train, appraise, supervise, support, develop and motivate top quality Marketing staff to achieve company marketing goals and objectives.
  • Plan, manage and control budgets, expenses and operations of the Marketing team.


Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of product marketing experience in the software and/or education field with progressive marketing management responsibilities.
  • The individual should be highly motivated, analytical, and business focused with proven ability to develop comprehensive marketing plans that accelerate market share and sales growth.
  • Ability and desire to work in an entrepreneurial, informal environment.
  • Flexible and able to shift needs with the demands of the business.
  • Excellent listening, presentation and marketing skills.
