Business Analyst

Description:

The Business Analyst is principally responsible for interpreting data, formulating reports and making recommendations based upon the research findings. To accomplish this task, the Business Analyst works with the executive team and key stakeholders to understand, define and document the overarching business object. The Business Analyst applies qualitative and quantitative techniques to interpret the data and produce substantiated recommendations. The Business Analyst reports directly to the President/CEO.

Principle Accountabilities:

Analysis and Solution Definition
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to understand and document the business objectives.
  • Designs and/or assists in the development of questionnaires and moderator guides to ensure necessary data are captured.
  • Manages the kickoff of projects.
  • Writes feasibility papers on market study and financial analysis to determine if it is financially feasible to develop a proposed project.
  • Formulates analysis plans and obtains stakeholder sign-off.
  • Compiles findings in a presentation format that is easy to understand, answering questions and instilling confidence.
Project Execution
  • Assists in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.
  • Takes input from all team members and appropriately and accurately applies comments/feedback.
  • Understands the necessity of project standards and applies them consistently.
  • Develops internal and external meeting objectives and agendas.
  • Prioritizes multiple tasks effectively.
  • Understands the components of running a fiscally successful project.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • MBA Business Degree from Stanford, Harvard, Berkley or UCLA.
  • 5 to 8 years analytics experience.
Skills
  • Strong analytic and critical thinking skills
  • Exceptional written, oral, and presentation communication abilities
  • Ability to look at data and make recommendations.
  • Previous feasibility experience a must.
  • Understands online content.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including quick recall for the status and details of each project.
  • Expertise with Excel, Key Note and/or PowerPoint, including the ability to develop and generate complex reports.
  • Prepares presentations in a format that is easy to understand as well as presents the analytics.
  • Previous experience in education and/or ecommerce is considered an asset.
