Eric Robison

President and Chief Executive Officer

Eric joined lynda.com as president and CEO in 2008. He brings more than 25 years of operational and strategic leadership experience working with Internet, technology, media, and consumer product companies to the team. Eric is focused on scaling operations and expanding the lynda.com brand globally to help people all over the world transform their lives through learning.

Prior to joining lynda.com he served as president of IdeaTrek, Inc., a consultancy specializing in strategic planning and management mentoring for companies. Previously he spent 8 years as vice president of Business and Project Development at Paul Allen’s Vulcan, Inc. While at Vulcan, Eric was project director of the Experience Music Project and general manager of Clear Blue Sky Films.

Eric has served on the board of five public companies, three with a $1B + market cap and more than ten private company boards. For 14 years, he served on the board of CNET networks (sold to CBS for $1.8 billion) and Cumulus media, the second largest radio station in the United States.

An accomplished musician, Eric is a professional flute and saxophone player. In 2012 he was one of six musicians in the house band backing Phil Collins at the Queen’s Jubilee concert at Buckingham Palace (a career highlight!). He has also produced several films including the Oscar nominated and critically acclaimed feature, Far from Heaven starring Julianne Moore and Dennis Quaid.
