Senior Email Marketing Manager

At lynda.com, the Senior Email Marketing Manager will own promotional and triggered email campaigns as well as design and execute marketing programs to reduce churn and increase retention. The Senior Email Marketing Manager will work cross functionally with Analytics, Creative, Product, and other Marketing teams. The ideal candidate will keep up with email marketing trends and be motivated to understand customer behavior. This position will report to the Director of Engagement Marketing.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Own and take full accountability of lifecycle email programs from strategy to development to execution.
  • Develop strategy of lifecycle email campaigns including acquisition, onboarding, retention, and winback triggered programs to engage our growing audience and oversee execution of campaigns.
  • Develop promotional programs that are relevant and appealing to the target audience.
  • Optimize campaign performance through A/B testing, lifecycle management, personalization, creative, and dynamic content management.
  • Champion best practices with key stakeholders ensuring vested interest in the success of email marketing campaigns.
  • Develop and analyze key marketing metrics to ensure campaigns are meeting traffic, retention, and revenue goals.

Experience and qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of online digital marketing and/or email marketing experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience building the strategy for email retention and/or two years of marketing automation experience preferred
  • Experience building campaigns, analyzing key marketing metrics, and developing strategy for lifecycle email campaigns
  • Ability to think strategically at the industry and competitor levels
  • Ability to grasp and understand business concepts and issues
  • Ability to provide efficient and reliable customer service to clients, internal and external, with a strong sense of personal accountability and time management
  • Must be comfortable in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment
  • Strong collaboration skills and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to motivate others
  • Passion for building new businesses, finding creative solutions, and testing new methods and tactics to increase engagement
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills with the ability to articulate and communicate concisely cross functionally
  • Proficient in Excel and Google Analytics and familiar with ESP platforms; some basic HTML is preferable
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field or equivalent experience required; MBA is a plus

The work environment is an office setting or home office and the noise in the work environment is usually quiet.
