Hi! I am Bill Weinman, and I am really excited to be bringing you this tour of Xcode 4's new features. Xcode 4 is a major upgrade to Apple's Xcode integrated development environment for developing applications for Mac OS X and iOS. Xcode 4 has all its major functions in one unified interface, and a number of new and updated features. The Editor area features new split views, allowing you to edit related counterpart files one alongside the other, while preserving their autonomy.
You can now use the Assistant Editor to make connections from interface elements directly into your code, drastically reducing the number of steps needed to set up a screen layout. Xcode 4 now supports Local Git Repositories and the new LLVM Compiler environment with its powerful Clang parser front-end, allows useful new features like Fix-it that can find errors in your code as you type and give useful suggestions on how to correct them. So grab some code and join me as I take you on a tour through Xcode 4's new features.
